The best time to visit Bali: a weather guide

• Dry Season: April to September. At this temperatures range from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius and the beaches are cleaner 

• Rainy Season: October to March. The temperatures remain consistent at 27 to 33 degrees Celsius with humidity levels of 80%, the sea is rougher in this season 

The high tourist season is around May to September with a peak in July and August. This is also the time when Indonesia has the national school holidays. This means the Dry Season is the high season. In the Rainy Season there are less tourists, so the accommodations offer promotions and discounts.   

We recommend you visit Bali during the Dry Season but avoiding the peak of the school holidays so there are less crowds. This has many advantages like the humidity being low and the unlikely chances of rain. • January: this is Bali’s wettest month, there will still be hot sunny days but most surely interrupted with brief downpours. The average temperature is 26 degrees.  

• February: this month is characterized by hot and humid days interrupted by intense rainfall. The temperatures stay at 26 degrees, but the sea is rougher so snorkeling or diving becomes difficult.   

• March: The temperature increases to 27 degrees and humidity gets more intense. There is also a lot of afternoon tropical rain.   

• April: Rain reduces significantly, and the sea becomes clear for underwater activities. The temperatures also start rising.   

• May: This is Bai’s hottest month; the temperatures get to a maximum of 29 degrees average. The weather is dry and sunny, perfect for diving and trekking.   

• June: The constant is the sunshine, and the average temperature is 27 degrees. The hotels, restaurants and beaches tend to be less crowded.   

• July: The temperature stays consistent at 27 degrees. Because of the school holidays, the island becomes very popular, so the hotels and restaurants are busier. It is one of the best times for underwater activities.   

• August: This is the sunniest month of all year. It is perfect for beach days, but it is also a very busy time for the island, so it tends to be crowded.   

• September: The days are sunny, and the temperature is still warm with an average of 27 degrees. With the end of the European summer holidays, there are less tourists.   

• October: The wet season starts here so the rainfall becomes more common. The temperatures remain warm, and the water visibility is good.   

• November: Especially towards the end of the month, the rainfall increases a lot, but the temperatures remain hot. This is the time when it is less recommended to do trekking and climbing activities.   

• December: There is a high chance of rain. The sea conditions get worse with water visibility reducing.  During Christmas and New Year there are a lot of tourists on the Island.
