Ghana to remove its visa requirements for Africans by December
by Pilar Dujan | January 30, 2024Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of Ghana, announced during the annual Africa Prosperity Dialogue that the country plans on removing its visa requirements for all African citizens by December, 2024.
President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of such policies for continental growth, aligning with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) of free movement of people, goods and services across Africa.
Ghana is not the first country in the region to enact such a policy. Other African countries that allow all citizens of the continent to travel without having to apply for a visa are Seychelles, Gambia, Benin, Kenya, and Rwanda.
