Ghana to remove its visa requirements for Africans by December

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of Ghana, announced during the annual Africa Prosperity Dialogue that the country plans on removing its visa requirements for all African citizens by December, 2024.
President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of such policies for continental growth, aligning with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) of free movement of people, goods and services across Africa.
Ghana is not the first country in the region to enact such a policy. Other African countries that allow all citizens of the continent to travel without having to apply for a visa are Seychelles, Gambia, Benin, Kenya, and Rwanda.

The Republic of Ghana is a country in West Africa. It’s the second most populous country in the region after Nigeria, which is also the most populated country in all of Africa.
It borders Ivory Coast to the West, Burkina Faso to the North, Togo to the East, and the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean to the South.
The capital of Ghana is Accra. Other notable cities include Kumasi, Sekondi-Takoradi, Tamale, Cape Coast and Obuasi.
Over an area of 239,567 km2, Ghana stands out for its natural diversity. The country holds within its borders tropical forests, savannah and sandy beaches.
