FAQ ABOUT THE KOREAN ETA
Do I Need a South Korea Visa?
This is an electronic travel authorization valid for 3 years from approval or until your passport expires, allowing you to enter South Korea by air and sea. It's not an eVisa or traditional visa, but for certain nationalities, it's the only document they will need to enter South Korea alongside their passport. If you are eligible for a K-ETA, you won't need to apply for an Arrival Card for South Korea.
Other nationalities will need to apply for a traditional South Korea visa along with an Arrival Card (you can get it through the Immigration app or at an entry point in Korea).
Please note that applicants for a K-ETA who are under 18 or over 65 years old are not required to process this document. However, it's highly recommended to apply for the K-ETA because otherwise, you will need to apply for an Arrival Card upon arrival in South Korea. This process can delay your travel plans due to potentially long queues at South Korea's entry points.

K-ETA SOUTH KOREA: MORE INFORMATION
When traveling to South Korea, many international citizens have the option to apply for the South Korea visa (K-ETA) online. If you are eligible, this will be the only travel document you will need to show along with your passport upon arrival in the country.
Although the K-ETA for South Korea will be mandatory starting in 2025, it's highly recommended to apply for it now if you plan to travel to the country. While some nationalities do not yet require a South Korean ETA, those who choose not to apply for it will need to obtain an Arrival Card upon arrival in Korea. This involves additional procedures upon arrival, facing long queues, and could potentially lead to issues that might ultimately prevent entry into the country.
At Visagov, we offer a visa and travel authorization processing platform that allows you to apply for the South Korea K-ETA quickly, easily, and in your own language. With this document, you can enter and exit the country multiple times and stay in South Korea between 30 and 180 days per visit (the exact duration depends on your nationality).
Even if your document for South Korea is approved, entry into the country may be denied by South Korean immigration officials if you have provided false information or omitted relevant details. It's important to be honest when completing the South Korea visa application and thoroughly verify all information before submission.
