To apply for the K-ETA for Korea , you must submit the following documents:

  • Passport
  • Photo
  • Email address to receive the Korea travel visa (K-ETA)
  • Bank card to pay the processing fees

FAQ ABOUT THE KOREAN ETA

All travelers to South Korea require some form of travel authorization to enter the country. The good news is that many only need to apply for a K-ETA or the Korean ETA.

This is an electronic travel authorization valid for 3 years from approval or until your passport expires, allowing you to enter South Korea by air and sea. It's not an eVisa or traditional visa, but for certain nationalities, it's the only document they will need to enter South Korea alongside their passport. If you are eligible for a K-ETA, you won't need to apply for an Arrival Card for South Korea.

Other nationalities will need to apply for a traditional South Korea visa along with an Arrival Card (you can get it through the Immigration app or at an entry point in Korea).

Please note that applicants for a K-ETA who are under 18 or over 65 years old are not required to process this document. However, it's highly recommended to apply for the K-ETA because otherwise, you will need to apply for an Arrival Card upon arrival in South Korea. This process can delay your travel plans due to potentially long queues at South Korea's entry points.

  • 30-day maximum stay for travelers from Albania, Andorra, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Cyprus, Eswatini (Swaziland), Fiji, Guam, Guyana, Holy See, Honduras, Kazakhstan*, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia, Monaco, Montenegro, Nauru, New Caledonia, Oman, Palau, Paraguay, Samoa, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Tonga, Tunisia, Tuvalu, UK-Dependent Territories Citizen (GBD), UK-British National Overseas(GBN), UK-Brithis Protected Person(GBP), UK-British Subject (GBS).
  • 60-day maximum stay for travelers from Russia* and Lesotho.

    • *Important: Citizens of Kazakhstan, Russia, and Portugal have more limited maximum stays in South Korea. Travelers from Kazakhstan cannot stay more than 60 days in total (cumulative across all stays) within a 180-day period. Travelers from Russia and Portugal cannot stay more than 90 days in total within a 180-day period.
South Korea only requires to show a yellow fever vaccination certificate from travelers coming from countries where the disease is endemic, there is risk of transmission and who are over 1 year old.

Although this vaccine is not mandatory for all travelers to South Korea, we strongly recommend that you be vaccinated against:
  • Chickenpox
  • Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis
  • Influenza (flu)
  • Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR)
