More information about Asia

Asia is the largest continent on the globe and by far the most populated one. Asia is bounded on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the east by the Pacific Ocean and on the south by the Indian Ocean. On the east, Asia is bound mainly by Europe.

The main climate on the Asian continent is continental, with very cold and dry winters and summers with heavy rainfall.

There are 49 countries in Asia. The United Nations divides the continent into six main regions: North Asia (solely composed of Russia, the world's largest country), Central Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, West Asia and South Asia.

It is an incredibly biodiverse continent, home to the world's largest mountains.

It currently has some of the world's fastest developing countries, which are likely to become global superpowers in the future. But many countries are being left behind as a result of poverty, corruption or civil conflicts.
